We are offering an opportunity for a Property Accountant to join our team situated in Toronto, Ontario. In this role, you will primarily handle accounts receivables, general ledger, and bank reconciliations in the real estate industry.Responsibilities:
- Processing rent payments using the Yardi system
- Handling accounts receivables tasks
- Conducting bank reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records
- Assisting with accounts payable as required
- Working closely with the team to ensure smooth financial operations
- Regularly updating and maintaining accurate customer credit records
- Performing data entry tasks to keep financial information updated
- Utilizing Excel for various financial calculations and data management
- Preparing and posting journal entries to the general ledger
- Working on-site five days a week with no remote work option.
- Possession of a minimum of 2 years of experience in property accounting or a related field
- Proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR) and accounts receivables systems
- Experience with approving and coding invoices
- Demonstrable skills in data entry, including computer data entry
- Familiarity with Yardi Property Management and Yardi Software
- Proficient in performing monthly bank reconciliation and general ledger system maintenance
- Experience with journal entries, including preparing, posting, recording, and reviewing journal entries
- Familiarity with property accounting and CAMS Certification
- Knowledge of deferred rent and cost recovery processes
- Skills in data recovery and BCP – Disaster Recovery
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Excel Formulas and Excel VBA.
