Read on for more details about this exciting opportunity.The OpportunityYou will be part of a dynamic, fast-paced and international team of global Advisors that direct and support Trócaire’s work on women’s and girls’ protection, voice and leadership, a key organisational priority. We are proud of our work in this area and have a strong track record in delivering locally-led, high quality specialised Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and social norms change programming in development and humanitarian settings. Trócaire is a member of the GBV Area of Responsibility, the Call to Action on Protection from GBV in Emergencies and the Irish Consortium on GBV.The Protection Advisor is responsible for:
- Providing high quality technical advice and mentoring to Trócaire and partner staff and ensuring that they have access to the necessary tools, resources and skills to implement programming in line with international best practice. The role will have a particular focus on supporting Protection of Women and Girls (GBV specialised programming) in programme countries, potentially including Myanmar, Lebanon, Syria and Sierra Leone.
- Supporting the Senior Humanitarian Protection Advisor in providing strategic and technical leadership in driving Trócaire’s work on specialised Protection of Women and Girls in humanitarian programming.
- Representing the organisation in key GBV fora and engaging with donors and other key stakeholders.
- Engaging proactively with protection institutional funding priorities. This includes seeking out funding opportunities, shaping programme development processes and supporting implementation of grants at global and country office level.
- Continued organisational learning and strengthening of Trócaire’s Protection of Women and Girls programming.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about achieving gender equality and transformational change.
