De Beers Group is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join our team as a Provenance Lead. This role is pivotal in managing our strategic chain-of-custody Provenance Programme, which underpins the ethical and sustainable propositions of De Beers Jewellers, Forevermark and Origin Services and provides additional assurance for De Beers diamonds listed on the Tracr blockchain platform.
Key Responsibilities include (but not limited to)
Programme Management
- Develop, evolve and administer provenance chain of custody standard for De Beers Provenance Programmes, connecting the origin of the diamonds with the end consumer.
- Analyse and address new and emerging risk, proposing mitigaton options.
- Implement new standards and work closely with stakeholders and users of the standard to ensure effective implementation and troubleshoot issues.
- Investigate and recommend creative solutions for emerging risks that may impact consumer confidence.
- Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including De Beers’ strategic clients – diamond manufacturers.
- Establish and deliver training programmes to build awareness and capacity of programme participants.
- Oversight and maintenance of the bespoke multi-stakeholder platform to implement and deliver the objectives of the annual programme.
- Responsible for managing one direct report.
Due Diligence
- Actively manage due diligence initiatives and maintain good relations with relevant business units.
- Conduct deep dive due diligence on clients, suppliers and contractors
- Compile effective enhanced due diligence reports to aide with decision making.
- Provide recommendations for the evolution of due diligence requirements.
Undertake special projects as required
Qualifications
- Excellent project / programme management skills
- Sound knowledge of business principles
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, complex environment
- A critical and systems-based thinker, excellent at problem solving.
- Knowledge / experience of implementing ESG and/or chain of custody standards advantageous.
- Exceptional communication skill both written and verbal.
- Experience within the diamond industry is advantageous but not essential
- Some travel may be required.
