Hours: 35 hours per week (1) one hour lunch; Mon – Fri 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
Reporting To: Supervisor Campus Stores
Campus Location: OshawaDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Under the direction of the Supervisor, Campus Stores, the candidate would be responsible for all aspects of procurement and returning of textbooks, course packs and etexts pertaining to Durham College (day school and Continuous Education), Upon request, the candidate would research the best price, delivery and quality of material; recommends alternative sources, evaluates current vendors and use of government contracts through OECM if applicable. Textbook return reports supplied to the merchandising and shipping team for smooth credit returns. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of procurement and returning of faculty kits pertaining to Durham College programs requiring course specific items to complete their studies.Ensure that purchasing services are delivered with a value added customer service and acts as the College liaison in dealing with internal and external contacts on purchasing related matters and assists in resolving any problems and conflicts under the general instruction/direction of the Supervisor, Campus Stores.Provides advice on multi-disciplinary functional areas related to procurement, course building to interdepartmental staff as well as staff in other areas of the College, faculty and students alike.Familiar with business related software applications such as: Bookware (the Campus Store’s Operating System), MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, internet, and templates to prepare competitive procurement documents, quotes and other documents both independently as well as under the direction of the Supervisor, Campus Stores.QUALIFICATIONS: * A minimum of a 3-year diploma or degree in related discipline such as Business, Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Management Studies.
- A minimum of 3 years of work experience in Purchasing environment or Office Administration.
- Experience within College environment an asset. Working knowledge of email, word processing, and spreadsheet software programs.
- Excellent attention to detail, interpersonal and communications skills, highly developed customer service/conflict resolution skills, teambuilding, excellent organizational and time management skills must be discrete, confidential, self-motivated and exercise good judgement.
- Must have the ability to multi-task and be circumspect with confidential information.
- Knowledge of Bookware, Banner and FAST would be considered strong assets.
