Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust is looking to recruit an enthusiastic, dynamic, and talented individual to provide expert Quality and Governance advice and support to the Mental Health Directorates within the Trust. The post holder will advise on patient safety, clinical effectiveness, and quality of care across the directorate; with a particular emphasis on ensuring incidents and patient feedback are reported, reviewed and the learning is shared in accordance with best practice.The Mental Health Directorates aim to ensure the assessment and provision of person-centred specialist health and social care services which promote an individual’s right to choice, independence, health and wellbeing in line with their assessed needs and in a way that enables them to reach their full potential.Main duties of the jobThe successful candidate will be an integral member of the directorates’ senior team and work closely with the Trusts corporate quality and governance team. They will be expected to contribute fully to delivering the Trust-wide clinical governance and patient safety agenda and supporting learning through quality improvement methodology.The successful individual will both lead the development and production of directorate quality and safety reports, for regular trust wide and directorate meetings. - oMSc / post graduate diploma / long course linked to specialism, or equivalent experience.
- oEvidence of completion of informal/formal management and leadership/supervisory skills training
- oEvidence of completion of service improvement and project management training
- oAdvanced knowledge of clinical governance, risk management and national priorities in relation to patient safety
Desirable
- oEvidence of developing standards, clinical protocols, procedures and guidelines.
- oRoot Cause Analysis or investigation techniques training
- oPRINCE2 or Project Management Qualification
- oRisk Management Qualification
ExperienceEssential
- oStrong understanding of the role of regulators in the NHS including the CQC
- oAdvanced knowledge of clinical governance, risk management and national priorities in relation to patient safety
- oGood knowledge of regulation linked to health and safety, safeguarding and information governance.
- oDemonstrates in depth knowledge of the principles of risk management

- oExcellent co-ordinator, facilitator, educator and written and verbal communication
- oDemonstrates ability to be a good team member and to lead a complex team

- oGood knowledge of regulation linked to health and safety, safeguarding and information governance.
