For those who dream big and push boundaries on the ground and in the stars to change the world for the better, we’ll take you there.The Position:The Quality Analyst I is a member of the quality team that performs quality related tasks in the MDA Business Process System.Job Responsibilities:1) Re Supplier: Prepares inspection criteria and ensures completion of incoming inspections/reports. Performs Quality Assurance duties (including review/approval of FAI and incoming quality documentation) and product verification at source.
2) Recognizes the need for and initiates corrective action on discrepancies in quality of products manufactured by and/or on behalf of MDA. Tracks/reports on Non-conformances activities related to quality of products until closure. Reviews product specifications and shop work orders for correct inspection and quality sequences and provisions, in compliance with special processing requirements and other engineering instructions. Prepare concession applications.
3) Examines new products, systems, components, assemblies and related Engineering drawings and specifications, and from these prepares the necessary plans, and instructions required to inspect and verify compliance to applicable specification. Co-ordinates and witnesses initial Acceptance Tests (ATP) and may be assigned to co-ordinate and witness Qualification Tests and subsequent Acceptance Tests.
4) Review Sales Orders, Production Process Standards, Test Procedures, Proposals, Purchase Orders and related documents for correct inclusion of Quality Assurance and inspection requirements, and ensures inter-department co- ordination to ensure quality provisions are included and achieved as required.
5) May act as an authorized Quality Assurance Representative on the Material Review Board, may assign and check work of juniors. Prepares Quality Assurance Program and Inspection Test Plans as required to contractual specifications. Prepares statistical charts or other means of presenting quality performance.
6) Conduct existing and new supplier evaluations/audits (as per QA Auditor delegation/training) and maintain Approved Supplier List (ASL) database entries.
7) Analyzes existing quality techniques, develops and prepares procedures and/or revises quality procedures, directives, inspection, and process instructions.
8) Accountable for compiling and/or verification of accuracy of Tollgates and EIDPs. (May delegate compilation to lower classifications).Job Required Skills/Abilities:
- This role requires achieving and maintaining a quality stamp (ie., inspections either internally or externally).
- Graduation from an Institute of Technology or equivalent with courses in subjects related to manufacturing and quality techniques, applicable to Aerospace and/or manufacturing industry.
- Should have three to four years’ experience in the Quality Assurance field as applicable to methods and procedures related to Government Agencies.
- Works with minimum supervision.
- Must take ownership and accountability for the execution of quality processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills using data and reports
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
- Meticulous records maintenance skills
- Must be able to follow process and identify gaps
- Able to build and maintain lasting relationship with other departments
- Familiar with Metrology techniques
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (GD&T)
Where Canadian clearance is restricted, it is understood that the company may utilize alternate qualified resources for source inspection.
