The opportunity
The Reaching Wider Team at Cardiff Metropolitan University is seeking to appoint an administrator to support the Reaching Wider team. The successful candidate will provide effective and efficient administrative support for the Reaching Wider Cardiff Metropolitan University team, contributing to the success of the team programmes.
Reaching Wider is a HEFCW funded national partnership programme of universities, schools and colleges working together to improve social mobility by widening access to all forms of higher education. The programme aims to increasing higher education participation from under-represented groups by raising educational aspirations and skills and creating innovative opportunities and learning pathways to higher education. The South East Wales Reaching Wider partnership is a collaborative programme led by delivery teams in Cardiff Metropolitan University, Cardiff University and the University of South Wales. Delivery teams offer a suite of long-term interventions of workshops, activities and campus visits that support attainment raising, provide information, advice and guidance and assist progression to higher education and level 4 learning for targeted audiences. Our audiences are adults 21 and over without level 4 qualifications, young people in schools, care experienced young people and young people with caring responsibilities, prioritising learners from specific areas of higher socio-economic deprivation.

What you’ll do
- Deal with a range of enquires from internal and external customers in a professional manner, establishing their requirements and adapting the standard responses accordingly.
- Provide administrative support in the organisation of events and programmes that are delivered both on and off campus.
- Collaborate with colleagues to make recommendations for developments of established processes and procedures.
- Establish working relationships with key contacts to help improve service levels.
- Undertake administrative tasks for the team, such as dealing with team orders, finances, invoices and deliveries, timesheets, liaising with the Estates and Campus Services teams, booking rooms, ordering catering/transport, printing out resources.
- Gather, input and analyse data to update administrative systems with accurate information, establishing basic trends and patterns in any data submitted.
