Vacancy Reference:

The Faculty of Health has established a significant focus on cardiovascular health across the university with the establishment of the Liverpool Centre for Cardiovascular Science (LCCS) (www.liverpool.ac.uk/lccs).

The LCCS, directed by Professor Gregory Lip is a strategic research collaboration between the Liverpool Heart & Chest Hospital, Liverpool John Moores University, Liverpool Health Partners, and the University of Liverpool (see https://twitter.com/LiverpoolCCS ).

This multi-disciplinary research centre is focussed on the development of high quality cardiovascular research providing a collaborative environment for colleagues from multiple disciplines (eg epidemiology, nursing, clinical, translational and basic science) to make a direct impact on people’s lives.

LCCS has a number of major international partnerships, fostering close academic collaborations with colleagues from Europe (Holland/Denmark/France/Germany/Serbia), Asia (Korea/China/Japan/Taiwan/Hong Kong/Thailand/India/Sri Lanka), Australia and South America (Brazil).

Whilst contributing to the global agenda, we also recognise the importance of meeting the needs of our local communities.  As a member of the Liverpool Health Partners, we regularly collaborate with nine NHS Trusts from across the City Region to find answers to their most pressing questions, anchoring the LCCS in the heart of the city’s health economy.

We are providing an opportunity for the right person to join a cardiovascular research team that is globally recognised.

You will be a researcher with an excellent international profile and the potential to become a world-leading scholar in their field.

We would encourage applications from all individuals who meet the advert criteria, but would particularly encourage applications from women, Black, Asian and diverse ethnic groups, LGBTQ+ groups; and disabled people who are currently under-represented at this level in LJMU workforce.  Appointment will be based on merit alone.

Both LJMU and LCCS are proud of their commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion and endeavour to cultivate a staff base that is representative of society.  Please let us know if you require any reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process. Family friendly and/or flexible working is also supported, and we welcome enquiries.
