Scott Park Surgery in Southend, has an opportunity for an enthusiastic and proactive receptionist/audio typist to join our team on a part-time basis for 20 hours per week.The hours are as follows:
- Monday 14.45-18.45
- Tuesday 12.30-4.30
- Wednesday 09.00-13.00
- Thursday 07.45-11.45
- Friday 12.30-16.30
You will need to be flexible on occasions to working extra hours to cover staff holidays.The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated team player who has customer service/patient experience and offers excellent communication skills.Main duties of the job
- Typing referral letters and medical reports.
- Answering telephone and assisting as necessary.
- Responding to queries and requests for assistance from patients/visitors.
- Making appointments and managing the booking system.
- Filing of patient records and other confidential documents.
- Data inputting.
- Issuing repeat prescriptions.
- General reception/admin duties as required.

- Touch typing experience.
- Able to work under pressure and on your own initiative.
- Able to work in a polite, confidential, and discreet manner, respecting patients, and colleagues at all times.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Confident using IT including Microsoft Word & Excel and can quickly pick up new software skills.
- Time flexibility to do extra hours to cover annual leave, absence, short of staff as and when necessary, at short notice.
- Strong inter-personal and prioritising skills, and the ability to balance multiple priorities.
- Committed to delivering a quality service, be a team player and proactively identify continuous improvement opportunities and implement them.
- Able to plan ahead and respond to changes and understand the impact that these changes can have on the overall service delivery of the practice.
Desirable
- Audio typing skills.
- A current DBS.
- Previous GP practice experience but full training will be given if needed.
