Department Overview
The Reconciliations Team is a critical control function within TD Wealth Operations responsible for accounts that cover TD Wealth in Canada and the US. The Team is accountable for the overall governance of accounts to mitigate financial exposure and risk, and ensure superior client experiences. This involves oversight of accounts from multiple systems and across a range of Wealth products to ensure that breaks are being actively acquired, owned, investigated and resolved in a timely manner. In addition, the team works to investigate, improve, and optimize existing reconciliation processes and pain points within the entire Reconciliations control space.
The primary accountability of the role is to complete and improve existing processes and while identifying and escalating risks of aged and high value breaks within the reconciliations control space. Your high energy and desire to improve process and mitigate risk will enable you to find creative solutions that not only optimize the efficiency of existing processes and controls but also improve employee engagement and satisfaction.
As a member of the Reconciliations Control team, you will also have a unique opportunity to positively impact the future state of a vital control function within TD Wealth. The Reconciliation Analyst will support, enhance and ultimately augment our existing Reconciliations team’s processes, mandate and efficiencies.
Your high energy and desire to invoke change will enable you to find creative solutions using a variety of tools including excel VBAs, Alteryx and Tableau to optimize the efficiency of existing Reconciliation processes by automating functions such as data load and match rules to accurately identify and assign breaks for remediation.
You have a keen sense of finding the root cause of problems by analyzing and sifting through data. You are driven to succeed in a dynamic and changing environment to drive competitive advantage within the Operations functions at TD Wealth.
Job Requirements
- 3+ years’ experience within a Wealth Business, Operations or other related industry
- Highly proficient in Excel (advanced excel preferred). Knowledge of other programming language and familiarity with tools such as Alteryx/Python/Tableau are an asset.
- Strong analytical skills applied towards sorting through large amounts of data to identify and resolve account outages, perform complex investigations and root cause analysis
- Ability to work in a high pressure environment and ability to prioritize and manage the workflow of the team.
- Self-motivated and dedicated teammate, who takes ownership and accountability, has strong organizational skills as well as the ability to effectively handle challenging priorities
- Intellectual curiosity, passion for innovation and simplification and self-motivation

Responsibilities:
- Identifies key operational / reporting / process issues for own area
- Provides thorough analysis and/or specialized reporting or operational/process support
- Provide accurate and thorough analysis of key process drivers, root or systemic causes of cross functional operational issues, interpret findings and make recommendations
- Participate in the continuous improvement of current reconciliation – identify and bring forward opportunities to improve service delivery
- Manage/monitor the Digital Worker (bots), review its performance and identify defects and support the Mutual Funds Reconciliation team to sort/analyse breaks and finding process improvements for the team.
- Assist in data analysis and identify patterns where manual matching and break allocation is occurring and advance ideas to build automation rules.
- Recommend and develop solutions to optimize process performance:
- Take a risk based approach in applying innovative solutions to unique problems in differing lines of business
- Liaise with multiple partners
- Recommend and summarize improvements
- Using tools including Excel VBAs, Alteryx and Tableau, build workflows/processes that optimize the efficiency of existing Reconciliations by automating functions such as data load and match rules to accurately reconcile data, identify and assign breaks for remediation, management reporting using dashboards to highlight exposure and trends.
- Develop, test, document and implement new and enhanced reconciliations, dashboards and breaks reports.
- Work with project teams, to develop, maintain and test reconciliation between multiple sources of data.
- Assist in analysis, development, testing and implementation of operational changes and process improvements.
- Participate in completing daily reconciliation tasks while meeting or exceeding Service Level Agreement(s) requirements
- Identify, record and investigate processes/exceptions arising from transactions / processes beyond first level operations service delivery
- Refer or escalate processing or operational issues as needed based on a solid understanding of the issue, connect with the appropriate function / partner to facilitate resolution and ensure that service quality is maintained, and risk minimized.
- Participate fully as a member of the team, support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation and teamwork
- Support team manager in managing team workload, demonstrating a proactive understanding of the changing landscape
- Support the team by actively building operations knowledge, think critically about processes and opportunities for improvement, share ideas and transfer knowledge within the team, across the function, and with partners (e.g., audit, business insights)
- Work collaboratively and develop good working relationships with all Reconciliations process partner teams
- Contribute to the success of the team by willingly assisting others in the completion and performance of work activities; provide training, coaching and/or guidance as appropriate
- Contribute to a fair, positive and equitable environment that supports an inclusive and diverse workforce
- Participate in initiatives, ensure that changes to the systems and processes impacting reconciliation activity are addressed, and ensure that reconciliation controls remain effective.
