Brucejack is a fly-in/fly-out operation with pick-up points across Western Canada, making it easy for people from different places to join us. The committee also plans holiday decorations, charity raffles, and outdoor events, helping create a warm and friendly community.PurposeThe purpose of the Red Seal Plumber/Gasfitter position is to ensure that all assigned maintenance and service requests comply with plumbing and gas codes in accordance with policies, standards and environmental requirements.Essential DutiesPerform following duties, with safety being the number one priority:
- Study drawings and specifications to determine the layout of the installation and materials required
- Measure and mark reference points for installation of gas lines and equipment
- Install and maintain gas meters and regulators and gas lines between gas unit and gas meter
- Install, maintain and service gas heating units and their components, such as burners, valves and automatic controls
- Test and replace defective equipment or components
- Test and adjust control mechanisms and check pipes and piping connections for gas leaks using gas detecting devices
- Attend to gas escape calls and assist in the investigation
- Prepare reports on condition of facilities
- May repair and service gas appliances and related equipment
- Participate in any other site specific training
- Other duties as required
Training & ExperiencePosition requirements include, but are not limited to:
- Valid inter-provincial Red Seal Plumbers certification trade qualification. BC Gasfitter Class B ticket preferred.
- Valid driver’s license for any vehicle that may be utilized for the job
- Minimum of 3 years or more of progressively related experience in maintenance and service within a mining or industrial setting
- Experience in remote site, preference given to experience in the area of industrial workforce accommodations
- Strong knowledge of regulations regarding plumbing and gas codes
- Strong knowledge of safety procedures within the construction field
- Detail and results oriented with the ability to adhere to shifting priorities and deadlines
Working Conditions
- Work at remote location (camp) on a 14 days on/14 days off rotation, and 2 travel days.
- Able to pass a pre-employment medical screening.
- Must be able to lift/move up to 50lbs throughout a work shift.
- Be able maintain high levels of performance over 12-hour shifts.
- Able to work in areas of extreme weather conditions.
- Able to work in close quarters with the team.

This rate is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.
