We are looking for the ideal candidate to fill an immediate opening for a Regional Automotive Controller to oversee a smaller region of dealership accounting offices. The ideal candidate will need to have a hand’s on and interactive management style as they work directly with the Dealership Accounting Offices and the Executive Team. POSITION SUMMARY OF AUTOMOTIVE DEALERSHIP CONTROLLER:

Management of dealership finance and accounting to include preparation of monthly and annual consolidated financial statements, cash flow analysis, internal and external reporting, internal controls and best practices management. The Controller will report directly to the CFO, will oversee a region of accounting offices and will provide guidance to accounting staff and office managers. Once integrated, this position will serve as part of our executive leadership team.

Responsibilities as a Hertrich Controller will be to:

· Oversee Office Managers and staff members within the accounting offices

· Analyze and organize office/administrative operations and procedures

· Proactively manage and safeguard company assets

· Ensure that all scheduled accounts, warranty claims, rebates, parts and vehicle inventory are current and accurate

· Consistently implement all changes in accounting policies and procedures as requested

· Review the reconciliation of general ledger accounts with outside sources to ensure bank reconciliations, reserve accounts, factory and floor plan payables, A/R and A/P are accurate.

· Work with office managers to perform month and year end closes on a timely basis

· Work closely with all departments in both an accounting and operational capacity

· Perform income and expense analysis on exceptions or deviations

· Ensure that a strong internal control environment is consistently maintained

· Ensure compliance with all applicable governmental finance regulations

· Work with office managers and payroll specialists to ensure that accurate HR/Payroll information is processed on a timely basis and calculations of commissions are accurate and prompt

· Other duties and responsibilities as required and essential to the position

Automotive Controller Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

· Three years of recent Automotive Controller Experience

· Extremely organized with the ability to maintain focus, multitask, and work in a fast-paced environment

· Ability to execute and follow through to completion

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to manage others effectively in a high-pressure, busy environment

· Possess basic computer skills including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, email, internet, and dealership software

· Dealertrack knowledge a plus
