The opportunity

In the role of a Registered Plans Officer, your primary function will be to provide back-office administration support to our Bare Trust Clients. We are looking to add to our registered plans team so this will include activities related to the knowledge of locked-in pension plans, RRSP’s, RRIF’s, TFSA, RESP, RDSP, & FHSA. Trust us – it’s more exciting than it sounds. You will be the go-to for the day-to-day operations inquiries from our broker/dealer clients. What you’ll be doing

  • Financial transactions. Prepare daily wire transfers for outgoing funds and deposit incoming funds to/from broker/dealer clients and coordinate with Treasury Team as required. Review and approve estate settlements and prepare required tax slips. Review and approve unlocking requests.
  • Risk. Support the annual administrative reviews of client day to day processes to ensure compliance to policy and minimize risk exposure.
  • Documentation. Distribute and monitor the receipt of compliance certificates, OFSI forms for suppression of terrorism and sanctions and other documentation. Ensure all required documentation is complete and appropriately actioned within established timeframes.
  • Operations optimization. Ensure Registered Plans email box queries are actioned within the required time frame and the email box is cleared. Proactively address potential procedure enhancements and best practices, sharing with management and peers.
  • Privacy. Ensure that the confidentiality of Trust clients is maintained, and all authorized signers are updated.
  • Collaboration. Provide direct support to other CWT and CWB teams such as Treasury, Operations, Payments, Wires, Business Development and Relationship Management.
  • Performance measures. Complete all work within established timeframes, service level agreements and operational policies. Regularly review SLA targets to ensure client needs are met.

Who we’re looking for & what you’ve done

Core knowledge requirements

  • High school graduation required
  • Some business-related post-secondary education
  • 1-3 years of administrative experience in banking, trust services or a related industry
  • Client service experience is an asset

Demonstrated experience.

  • Strong administrative and organizational abilities
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of RRSP, RRIF, TFSA, RESP, RDSP & FHSA rules
  • Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong Knowledge on Registered Plan Operations and locked-in legislation is desired
