Your Opportunity:Correctional Health Care provides medical services and resources based on current evidence, research, and best practice. Reporting to the Healthcare Manager, The Registered Nurse (RN)/Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) performs a variety of nursing duties in a fast-paced and high-stress environment. The Registered Nurse (RN)/Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) works as a member of the Correctional health care team collaborating on the delivery of holistic, comprehensive care to meet the needs of individuals, and/or communities. As part of a multidisciplinary team, the RN/RPN provides leadership in nursing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for the purpose of promoting, maintaining or restoring health, preventing illness, injury, and disability. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. You will teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and take necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care, while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:Completion of an accredited Psychiatric nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta (CRPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
