Description: The Remote Sensing Scientist specializes in the analysis of satellite and airborne imagery to study Earth’s surface and atmosphere. They develop algorithms and models to extract valuable information for applications in environmental monitoring, agriculture, urban planning, and disaster management.
Responsibilities:
Processing and analyzing remote sensing data to derive geospatial information.
Developing algorithms and techniques for image classification and feature extraction.
Conducting research to improve remote sensing methodologies and applications.
Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams on environmental and geospatial projects.
Communicating findings through reports, presentations, and publications.
Qualifications:
Master’s or Ph.D. in Remote Sensing, Geography, Environmental Science, or related field.
Proficiency in remote sensing software (e.g., ENVI, ArcGIS, QGIS).
Experience with image processing techniques and geospatial analysis.
Strong programming skills in languages such as Python or R.
