The Reports and Political Affairs Program Assistant will provide administrative, professional, and technical support services to the Reports and Political Affairs (RPA) team of the Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons (J/TIP).

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Reports and Political Affairs Program Assistant: $38.00/hour.

Pay commensurate with experience.

Reports and Political Affairs Program Assistant Responsibilities Include:

  • Supports the RPA Senior Coordinator and Deputy Senior Coordinators with scheduling and tracking the workflow of the RPA team.
  • Assists with the preparation and clearing of a variety of documents that include briefing checklists, action and decision memos, cables, and various materials in support of bilateral diplomatic engagement and the annual Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Report.
  • Supports planning, research, scheduling, Department engagement, and paper and memo preparation in support of bilateral diplomatic engagement and completion of the annual TIP Report.
  • Supports RPA coordination and information sharing with Department and internal J/TIP stakeholders.
  • Engages regularly with Department and other stakeholders on the status of documents and clearances and assists in proofreading and standardizing team documents.
  • Receives and assists in managing requests for the RPA team from other J/TIP teams and the Front Office.
  • Schedules, organizes, and takes notes in support of meetings held by members of the team and distributes as needed.
  • Serves as RPA point of contact for speaking and training requests among RPA staff (including international visitor programs, FSI, etc).
  • Leads on collecting data for various reports and data calls (e.g., annual Attorney General’s Report) and may provide supplemental research support on RPA team products.
  • Monitors J/TIP intranet and internet website content as it relates to the RPA Team and updates as needed.
  • Assists Team members with travel preparation, including preparation of travel authorization and vouchers.
  • Maintains the RPA Team Calendar and provides information as needed for other office calendars (e.g., the J/TIP Office Travel Calendar).
  • May act as a back-up for Team members out on travel or leave
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Reports and Political Affairs Program Assistant Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience in international (multi-donor) cooperation, building relationships with the interagency and like-minded partners.
  • Experience with strategic and operational plans, developing and implementing strategic communications.
  • Experience with program design and implementation of foreign assistance and working with USG implementing partners such as the US Agency for International Development (USAID), US Department of State and/or United Nations is required.
  • Prior experience performing in leadership roles managing multi-million-dollar programming, program evaluation, managing and mentoring staff, negotiating with foreign governments and demonstrated experience in organizational management, systems and business processes.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
