About the Role
We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher to develop water repellent (Superhydrophobic) coatings for real-world application. Using a natural composite formulation approach for the design of materials able to perform to industrial specifications on an industrial scale. The researcher will work closely with a range of industrial collaborators throughout the project.
The post is based at the Mile End Campus in London. It is a part-time (17.5 hours per week), fixed-term appointment for 1 year.
About You
Applicants should have an excellent academic record, proven academic writing ability, attention to detail and strong communication skills. Applicants should hold a relevant degree in materials science/engineering, materials chemistry, or a similar discipline and experience in coatings formulation and/or water repellent surfaces.
About the School
This post is within the School of Engineering and Materials Science, a large School with 70-80 academics and a similar number of postdoctoral research staff. There are around 1000 undergraduate and taught postgraduate students and 220 PhD students. These are supported by an administrative and technical staff team of 45. The staff and student body are international in make-up.
