ENG40224Applications are invited for a full-time, 6 month Research Associate/Fellow position in life cycle assessment of metal hydride technologies for hydrogen storage, compression, and transport.For the successful candidate, this position will provide an exciting opportunity to expand your critical understanding of the opportunities and challenges related to hydrogen storage and transport, as part of a transition to low carbon energy technologies for decarbonising heat, transport, and other energy services. You will develop novel methodologies to explore the life cycle resource and environmental implications of future fuels production. In this position, you will benefit from working with world-leading academic colleagues in offshore renewable energy; hydrogen generation, storage and transport; fuel synthesis, including ammonia and carboniferous fuels; and system optimisation. You will also benefit from active engagement with key UK and international industry partners across these areas.You will hold, or be about to obtain, a PhD in a relevant subject area, with a background in a relevant engineering discipline being particularly desirable. You will have experience developing and applying life cycle assessment tools and their application to energy technologies. Essential skills that you possess include: effective collaborative working in a multi-disciplinary environment; creative thinking and problem solving; and the ability to clearly communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences.What we offer:
