We offer an exciting opportunity to join our research programme spanning public health, epidemiology, economic analysis and simulation modelling. In particular, we want the candidate to contribute to our modelling partnership with the Health Foundation’s Research and Economic Analysis for the Long term (REAL) Centre, on healthcare systems demand modelling.We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a flair for writing data-analytics and ideally applying them to health, social or economic problem-solving, plus a proactive attitude to engage with the project. We will consider applications from other backgrounds if the applicant can show a good fit with the project.Our partnership with the Health Foundation’s Research and Economic Analysis for the Long term (REAL) Centre aims to develop a model of demand for healthcare, based on the modelling of Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) incidence, prevalence and key determinants (risk factors and social determinants). This will be part of a broad programme of work on future on the demand for and supply of healthcare in the UK, being led by the REAL Centre.You will be based in the Department of Public Health, Policy and Systems at the University of Liverpool, working directly with Dr Chris Kypridemos, Professor Martin O’Flaherty, and colleagues from the NCD prevention and Food Policy Group. You will also work as part of the REAL Centre team who are based in London. You will be working closely and collaboratively linking the modelling activities across the two groups. The majority of the collaborative work will be conducted remotely, with occasional and flexible travel for face-to-face meetings in the future.In addition, you must be able to communicate well in written and verbal forms with a wide range of academic, policy and professional audiences.
