Research and Innovation Services provides support and services for our academics working across the research and innovation life cycle with a focus on applying for and managing funding, and providing professional advice on collaborations and contracts.
The directorate is comprised of four teams; Award Services, Contract Services, Planning, Insight and Improvement, and Compliance and Assurance, who all work together to deliver a service to support, advise and provide expertise to our academic community for our extensive and varied portfolio of externally funded projects.
The Compliance & Assurance team is responsible for managing services and providing expert advice that adds value to the academic mission and supports the research community, whilst protecting UCL from legal, reputational, and financial risks. This involves improving compliance with terms and conditions, policies and regulations, providing guidance and training, promoting and supporting a culture of integrity in research and innovation and managing research ethics review. The team also leads on Due Diligence on research funders and partners.
About the role
The post holder will promote and support the development of a culture of research integrity across UCL. This will include proactive communication with a network of stakeholders and the research community; the provision of advice, training and support to staff and students across faculties and professional services; ensuring that UCL complies with the commitments set out in the Concordat to Support Research Integrity. The postholder will provide co-ordination and support for UCL in responding to funder assurance programmes and in broader risk management, compliance and assurance mechanisms.
This role is eligible for hybrid working with a minimum of 20% on site.

About you
The successful candidate should have a good knowledge and operational experience of research management procedures, practice and policies within a HEI Research Services / Administration function. In addition, they will have experience of responding to research and innovation integrity, ethics or compliance and assurance requirements in the higher education sector.
