Pitt’s Department of Communication Science and Disorders houses exceptional academic programs and interdisciplinary research collaborations. We not only study the processes of human language, speech, voice, swallowing, hearing and balance, we delve into the nature of these disorders, and how to evaluate, manage and prevent them. 

This position manages all aspects of one or more projects for a research program and ensures team members meet project milestones throughout project lifecycle. Provides leadership, technical direction, coordination, and communication across project goals and requirements. Analyzes progress and/or performance and leads preparation and submission of reports.  Ensures compliance with budget, scope, timeline, and documentation requirements. Manages external communication and engagement with community research partner panel. Specifically, this position will manage day to day operations of the Eden Hall Foundation funded project: Treating Hearing and Improving Vision: Education (THRIVE)

Candidates for this job should have strong organizational and communication skills.



Job Summary

Manages all aspects of one or more projects for a research program and oversees all aspects of the project lifecycle. Provides leadership, technical direction, coordination, and expertise across projects. Analyzes progress and/or performance and prepares reports. Ensures compliance with budget, scope, timeline, and regulations. Assists with external communications.


Essential Functions 

•    Assure project milestones are completed on time, in scope, and in adherence to all applicable regulations and requirements

•    Oversee project movement through the IRB process

•    Manage external communication with funder, community research partners, and other department personnel.
                
•    Track and prepare analyses of progress and/or associated performance indicators against milestones, including budgetary adherence to guidelines.  

•    Manage service agreements and purchase of materials necessary for project operations.
                
•    Prepare agendas for weekly research team meetings, periodic community research partner meetings, and weekly touchpoints with principal investigators.

•    Assist with data collection and management using Qualtrics surveys.

•    Manage communication and documentation through email, Teams, Excel, and other web-based software systems 


Physical Effort 

Little physical effort required. Duties are primarily sedentary. May be required to move objects up to 20 pounds occasionally.
