We are looking to recruit a proactive and professional Research Support Officer to work in the Faculty of Arts & Humanities Research Hub. Reporting to the Research Hub Manager, you will be an integral member of the Faculty’s research support hub, working across a group of Departments.You will provide high quality, customer focused support (primarily ‘pre-award’) and assist with a variety of research support activities, including routine research costings and applications, as well as ensuring smooth set up of successful research applications and updating/ maintaining key information systems. You will work with as part of a small team to deliver high quality research administration to academics, researchers and professional services colleagues.You will ideally have previous experience of working in a research, finance or higher education environment, supporting the development of grants. You will also have administrative experience in costing, budgeting, preparing basic reports and handling personal and confidential information. Excellent customer service skills are essential, as well as an ability to meet deadlines and exercise judgement within a framework of guidance. Candidates must be educated to A-Level standard (or equivalent qualifications/work experience).The Faculty of Arts and Humanities is home to more than 3,400 undergraduate and postgraduate students and c. 380 staff whose curiosity about the languages, cultures, histories and imaginaries that make us human drives our learning at all levels.
