Queen’s Accommodation is part of the Student and Campus Life Directorate which is dedicated to enhancing, enriching and exceeding the student experience as well as delivering an exceptional experience to our internal and external customers. The Accommodation portfolio consists of circa 4,000 bedrooms catering for students, staff and customers over a number of sites around the main campus including BT1, BT2 and BT9.Our staff are key to the success of the service we provide our students, and we are therefore looking to recruit a person who will dedicate themselves to the student experience, providing a welcoming, efficient, knowledgeable and friendly service.We are seeking a Residential Life Content and Administration Assistant who will be responsible for the production, development and maintenance of digital social media content which promotes the Residential Life Team events, campaigns and activities across student accommodation, aimed at building community and encouraging student participation in all aspects of the student living experience.The post involves working in a shift pattern over 7 days during the months of September to May with Shift Allowance of 18%. The months of June, July and August do not require shift work and therefore will not be paid a shift allowance during these months, working Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. Shifts could commence any time between 8.00 am & 2.00 pm.There are three accommodation sites, Elms BT1, (College Avenue), Elms BT2 (McClintock Street) and Elms BT9 (Elms Village). The post holder will be based in any of the three accommodation hubs and will be required to rotate locations regularly.About the person:The successful candidate should clearly demonstrate how they meet the following essential criteria:

  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above (or equivalent) to include English Language or NVQ Level 2 in a relevant subject.
  • One year’s relevant work experience in digital or social media communication role.
  • One year’s relevant experience of working or volunteering with young adult or youth groups and event organising.
  • Ability to organise and engage with young people in a varied social and entertainment programme.
  • Proof-read marketing content.
  • Create social media content and video that will appeal and engage students.
