This matters because inclusion brings innovation and engagement, people will feel valued and empowered.General Job Requirements:Reporting to the RTR Director, Global Financial Solutions (GFS), this position will be responsible for the General Ledger accounting for one or more entities within the GFS Cork.Job duties include:The development of strong relationships with key stakeholders, in particular with market finance teams globally. Ability to quickly establish credibility with and influence diverse audiences.Maintains ledger integrity and ensures financial compliance with the worldwide Controller’s manual and to all applicable laws and regulationsEnsure financial records are in compliance with GAAP. Consistently maintains appropriate internal controls and upholds company policies and procedures including Worldwide Controller’s manualManages, prepares, administers, and directs the accounting close and financial reporting process for the markets within their responsibilities.Responsible for the timely and accurate review of month-end close and accounting transactions; P&L and balance sheet account analysis, review, reconciliation and resolution.The recruitment, retention, motivation, performance management and development of their teamContribute to the strategic focus and lead key priorities of the RTR GFS teamContribution to the definition and maintenance of key performance indicators (KPIs) and the establishment of a continuous improvement cultureInteracts successfully with internal and external auditors and supports quarter-end, interim and year-end audits by providing timely and accurate data and communication.Coordination of Balance Sheet Reviews with the relevant EMEA Controller and Market Finance Leads for respective Market(s)Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – the ability to work effectively across multiple functions and different cultures.Responsible for supporting and review of the Statutory Accounting Activities for one or more entities.Review of tax calculations (VAT, Corporation tax) and oversight of related filingsSupport the monthly operations decks process for one or more entities within the International GFS.Responsibility for Accounting SOX Compliance and controls for all markets within the GFSContribute to the review of monthly flux reporting packs.Ability to travel is necessary.Knowledge, experience, competencies:Qualified Chartered Accountant or person with an equivalent accountancy qualification with a fundamental understanding of what it takes to operate within a multi-country RTR environment in a multi-national corporation.The person we seek will ideally have RTR experience in a similar organization operating in several major countries in Europe, with exposure to the United States and in depth knowledge of general accounting policies and procedures in particular revenue recognition and US GAAP as well as knowledge of Irish statutory and tax reporting requirements. Experience leading Parent Entity reporting would be beneficial.People management experience is essentialExperience managing and leading teams through periods of significant changeCapable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously, working under pressure and to meet strict reporting deadlines.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – the ability to work effectively across multiple functions and different culturesSelf-starter and able to act on own initiative.
