Duration: Permanent, Full Time

Roles that require PVG Membership

Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 12 and above (currently £32,555 per annum / £16.92 per hour)

The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee’s first FULL month’s salary payment.

Paste job purpose/about the role

To provide a plan and coordinate health and safety, vehicle and other compliance for the Waste Collection service ensuring full compliance with all relevant legislation. To provide advice and guidance on health and safety matters to the wider waste team. Also, to be the point-of-contact for Building works within the Waste Collection Service. Deal with contractors on site. Source and organise training for Waste Operational Staff. Represent the Waste & Recycling Service at H & S briefings/meetings. A recognised Health and Safety qualification i.e. NEBOSH, IOSH is required.

The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:

A recognised Health and Safety qualification i.e. NEBOSH, IOSH

The postholder is able to demonstrate:

Health and Safety legislation, codes of practice and guidance
