The successful candidate will be employed by the GP Practice, not Swansea Bay University Health BoardMain duties of the jobThe practice is looking to recruit a salaried GP to cover 4 to 6 sessions per week (Monday to Friday) to join our friendly multidisciplinary team.We are based in the heart of Neath Town Centre.Terms in line with BMA Contract.Start date as soon as possible.We are looking to expand our clinical team with a motivated, committed forward thinking Salaried GP.The Partnership Consists of 2 GP’S and 1 ANP Partner. 1 Gp Retainer.The Clinical team Consists of 1 ANP, 1 APP, 1 Minor Ailments Nurse, 2 Pharmacy Technicians, 1 Prescribing Clerk, 2 Practice Nurses, 1 Healthcare Support Worker.Cluster team consists of 1 Cluster Support Pharmacist and 2 Pharmacy Technicians.Experienced or newly qualified applicants are welcomeInformal practice visits are welcome by appointment.About usCastle Surgery is a friendly and supportive GP practice in Neath Town Centre providing primary care service to our 10,000 patients. We are one of the eight practices in the Neath Cluster.If you are keen to join a sociable and friendly team with well-being of our patients at its heart, then come and find out more!Main duties of the jobTo provide, as part of a core multi-disciplinary team, a high quality general medical service to the registered patients of the practice (including temporary residents)o To provide consultation and appropriate clinical management of patients attending the practice, or to those where a home visit is clinically necessary To provide leadership, clinical oversight and direction to the rest of the clinical teamTo provide telephone consultation or Face to Face consultation and appropriate management of patients who contact the practice. To keep accurate and legible records of all patient contacts and contribute to electronic data recording and audit as directed by the service.There are no personalised patient lists and we operate a streamlined efficient document/pathology/radiology workflowThe post-holder will make him/herself available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery face to face, telephone and online consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries.Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.In consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health.Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate.Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate.In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.Opportunities will be available for teaching and development of special interests.The Practice is willing to wait for the right candidate and we would welcome newly qualified GPs.Job details – Salaried GP – four to six sessions per weekSalary – TBCTier 2 Visa sponsorshipTerms in line with BMA Contract.Start date as soon as possible.We currently use the Vision clinical system but will be transferring to Emis system in the near future.Experienced or newly qualified applicants are welcomeInformal practice visits are welcome by appointment.If you are Interested and would like further information.Please contact Nicola Edwards on 01639 507140 or send your current CV to [email protected]Please state in your application how many sessions per week you are interested in.Surgery website: https://castle.surgery.comJob Types: Part-time, Permanent
