Offer Description

GECAD (GECAD–EEA/00760), is offering 1 Research Grant in the area of administration, accounting, or related areas, for the R&D institution GECAD (GECAD–EEA/00760), SAtComm (Refª: EAPA_0019/2022) project co-financed by the INTERREG ATLANTIC AREA Program 2021-2027 through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The following conditions apply to this recruitment process:

2.ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Requirements: Degree in Administration, Economics, Accounting or similar area, knowledge and motivation to support financial management, marketing and project coordination.

Preferred profile: Previous experience in administration, marketing or finance of 1 year at least. Communication and negotiation skills, ability to identify opportunities to publicize the project and potential partners in the market, ability to manage and coordinate interdisciplinary work, mastery of project management and marketing tools.

Candidates must be enrolled in a master’s study cycle or in a non-academic degree course integrated into the educational project of a higher education institution, developed in association or cooperation with one or more R&D units.

3.DURATION OF THE GRANT

6 months duration, eventually to be renewed according to the applicable laws, the project execution and respective budget, starting expectably on March 2024.

4.PURPOSE OF ACTIVITY / WORK PLAN

The work plan will be carried out on an exclusive basis, in accordance with the Research Grants Regulations of the Foundation for Science and Technology, approved by Regulation No. 950/2019 and the ISEP Research Grants Regulations.

The work plan involves the following tasks:

– Support for project development and execution, financial monitoring, management of project resources and deadlines to be met, support in project coordination;

– Support in the integration of digital content of tasks and task results;

– Analysis of the legislative context of energy communities within the scope of the SAtCOMM project;

– Data analysis, including feedback from partners, users and team, as well as defining marketing strategies for the project including social networks, monitoring KPIs and implementing corrective actions.

– Active participation in work meetings within the scope of the scholarship, with the supervisor and team of the research group, and, if applicable, within the scope of the project where the scholarship is included, with national and/or international partners;

– Collaboration on scientific articles, project deliverables, or scientific reports;

– Participation in activities related to communication and dissemination of the project, internally and externally (may involve traveling nationally or abroad), of the work developed;

– Preparation and delivery, to the supervisor, of reports, planned or requested, on the activities carried out within the scope of the scholarship, including the final activity report;

– Make available all data developed, models, software source code, diagrams, and figures used, prepared and developed within the scope of the work.

5.APPLICABLE LAW

Research Fellow Statute, approved by Law No. 40/2004, of August 18; Regulation of Research Grants of the Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia, approved by Regulation no. 950/2019 published in the 2nd series – Part C, of the Diário da República, of December 16, 2019 and Regulation of Research Grants of the ISEP, Decree-Law no. 66/2018, published in Diário da República no. 157/2018, Series I of August 16, which approves the legal regime for the recognition of academic degrees and higher education diplomas awarded by institutions of foreign higher education and Decree-Law No. 60/2018, of August 3, which simplify administrative procedures necessary for the pursuit of research and development activities, all in their current wording.

6.SCIENTIFIC SUPERVISION AND WORKPLACE

The workplace is at GECAD – the Research Group on Intelligent Engineering and Computing for Advanced Innovation and Development in the following address: Rua Dr. António Bernardino de Almeida, 431. 4200-072 Porto – Portugal. The candidates to be selected will be scientifically supervised by Prof. Sérgio Ramos

7.BENEFITS

Monthly scholarship value: €990.98 paid by bank transfer (according to the FCT value table: https://www.fct.pt/financiamento/programas-de-financiamento/bolsas/ ), supported through PAD n. C62840.

8.SELECTION PROCESS

The selection method will take into account the following components: Curriculum vitae evaluation (60%) and interview (40%).

9.APPLICATION SUBMISSION METHOD

–         Motivation letter;

–         Detailed Curriculum Vitae, including address, telephone, and email contacts;

–         Document proving country of residence, residence permit, or other legally binding document equivalent, when applicable, valid on the start date of the scholarship, with verification of this condition only in the scholarship contracting phase;

–         Proof of enrollment ina master study cycle or in a non-awarding course academic degree integrated into the educational project of a higher education institution developed in association or cooperation with one or more R&D units;

–         Candidate’s declaration listing the conclusion and execution of previous scholarship contracts and past research from which you have benefited, which must include the type of scholarship and the respective start and end dates;

–         Technical or scientific documents authored by the applicant, which may be relevant to assess previous activities and results;

–         Graduation diplomas. In the case that the academic degree has been granted by a foreigner university, the applicant must submit the certificate of degree recognition in Portugal, or proof of respective application. All the requirements in the Decreto-Lei n.º 66/2018, de 16 de Agosto must be accomplished until de contract signature date;

–         Other relevant documents.

10.APPLICATION PERIOD

Between February 16th to 29th, 2024

11.METHOD OF PUBLICATION/NOTIFICATION OF RESULTS

The candidates will be individually notified by email message on the final evaluation results.

12.CLAIM AND APPEAL PROCEDURES

If the result is unfavorable, applicant has a period of 10 working days, after the disclosure of the results of the candidacy evaluation, to comment, if he/she so wish, in the context of a prior hearing of interested parties, under the terms provided for in the Código de Procedimento Administrativo.

The final decision referred to in the preceding paragraphs may be brought hierarchical appeal to the President of ISEP, within 15 working days of its notification.

13.ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

ISEP may opt to select the approved and non-selected candidates in the scope of the current call for contracting additional researchers for the same project, in case that the selected candidate doesn’t accept the position.
