Our client is a established medical communications agency, seeking a Scientific Project Co-ordinator to join their client services and editorial teams in their offices in Oxford.

This is a great chance to get into medical communications and develop a 360-degree view of medical communications (i.e. writing/scientific support and project management). You will be mainly be responsible for providing effective administrative and project-related support to account teams, but will also have the opportunity to assist with the development of some editorial content.

To be considered for this role you must be educated to MSc / PhD level in a life science, reside and be fully eligible to work in the UK, and live within commutable distance of the Oxford office.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide effective administrative and project-related support to delivery teams
  • Develop and maintain project status trackers/timelines; monitor project timelines on an ongoing basis
  • Liaise with clients and external experts in the delivery of projects
  • Liaise with and obtain quotes from external suppliers (e.g. hotels, secretariats, freelancers and printers)
  • Perform desk research on congresses, journals, websites, social media platforms and external experts
  • Assist with financial tracking and invoicing
  • Under guidance, develop outlines and drafts of scientific materials (e.g. publications, slide decks, reports, training materials) according to the project brief, ensuring that all review comments are adequately incorporated and projects are delivered to deadline
  • Learn process of internal review, QC, styling and copy-editing, and apply to project work, ensuring that final versions are approved by the required personnel

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Good Life science degree and MSc / PhD
  • Previous administrative or editorial experience would be an advantage
