The role oversees day-to-day security case management, aligning with the direction set by the Security Director, Assistance and adheres to global standards and processes.You will be working with Lead Security Analysts to ensure case management and operational planning align with intelligence assessments, supporting decisions during routine and crisis scenarios. Close coordination with the Assistance Centre teams including Operations, Flight Desks, and Travel is essential to integrate security risk assessments into responses and action plans.The role also works with the Group Manager, Security Assistance & Service Quality and the Manager, Global Security Network to update operational processes. Additionally, you will provide on-the-job training and support for Security Specialists, Assistance.Key responsibilities

  • Ensure operational preparedness and advice for the region are clear to clients and internal stakeholders for timely decision-making.
  • Provide dynamic case management direction to the Security Specialists Assistance team for the region.
  • Maintain sufficient and diverse security providers and secure hotels for case management, developing action plans as needed.
  • Align International SOS’ operational posture and planning for the region with the security outlook.
  • Oversee functional feedback to Security Assistance deliverables, enhancing risk management, security best practices and subject matter expertise for the region.
  • Develop and deliver training to build Security Specialist Assistance capabilities in security risk management and assistance operations.
  • Collaborate with Assistance Centre, Flight Desks and Travel Advisor teams to ensure comprehensive and efficient case management and operational planning.
  • Maintain and update secure hotel and security provider information, ensuring alignment with current risks and internal analytical and operational stance.
  • Enhance security assistance capabilities by contributing to functional projects, such as risk management training and operational templates.
  • Travel to the region as needed to assess security conditions, evaluate provider capabilities and expand the network of intelligence and assistance contacts.
  • Participate in the regional on-call security roster.
  • Support regional escalations by preparing Party Lines, Crisis Management Team briefings and managing crisis-related Requests for Assistance, including creating and executing Plans of Action.
  • Deliver safety and security training and workshops as required, with a focus on the region and support client-specific security assistance consultancy tasks.
  • Assist Sales and Marketing teams by articulating the company’s services and providing functional expertise in the Region during client-facing forums such as webinars.

About you

  • Extensive knowledge of security risk management best practices across diverse risk environments.
  • Proven experience in planning and managing security assistance operations.
  • Expertise in conducting profile-specific security risk assessments.
  • Strong understanding of the political and security landscape in the region.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex situations to non-expert audiences in English.
  • Ability to critically analyse multiple streams of security, logistics and threat-based information under pressure and produce actionable plans.
  • Skilled at identifying priorities and directing colleagues effectively.
  • On-the-ground experience in the region.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant applications.
  • Typically 5 years of experience in security assistance delivery and planning, including deployment in challenging environments across public, private, or nonprofit sectors, ideally in the region.
  • Proven experience in planning and conducting security assistance operations.
  • Demonstrable ability to work effectively across cultures.
  • Degree (or equivalent professional training and experience) in security studies, war studies, international politics, international relations, or a related field.
  • Accreditation from a regionally recognized security or risk management body.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Proficiency in other languages desirable; French preferred.
