In the Security Specialists team, we are looking for passionate and experienced specialist sellers with a drive for developing and winning strategic opportunities that deliver end-to-end security thought leadership, drive significant customer value, and enable transformational customer outcomes. The Specialist works closely with customers to identify their cybersecurity needs and recommend the best solutions from Microsoft’s suite of products and services.
As a Security Specialist, you will build secure digital transformation strategies with customers, collaborating across customer stakeholders to successfully enable them to be more secure. You will lead consultative customer conversations and collaborate on the planning, orchestration, and execution of end-to-end Security opportunities with internal stakeholders and partners to cross-sell and up-sell. This opportunity will expand your technical depth, hone your solution sales and collaboration skills, and deepen your end-to-end security expertise.
This role is flexible in that you can work up to 100% from home.
- Technical Expertise: Leads end-to-end Security conversations, shares best practices and key competitor knowledge across solution areas, and evaluates opportunities to make recommendations on pursuit or withdrawal.
- Experience driving new sales and new customers using innovative approaches, leveraging joint partnership events, social selling (LinkedIn) and networking.
- Enterprise customer level experience with cloud, security technologies (Identity and Access Management, Threat protection, Data protection, Cloud Security), and industry standards recommended
- Sales Excellence & Execution: Leads and plans for strategic accounts in the assigned territory, does business analysis to pursue high-potential customers and manages the end-to-end Security business across the assigned territory. Completes required training and obtains relevant product and role certifications aligned to the role and workload/industry.
- Exhibits outstanding operational excellence – including monthly/quarterly forecasting, building healthy pipeline, CRM entry and hygiene, opportunity management and virtual team orchestration.
- Scaling and Collaboration: Collaborates on the planning, orchestration, and execution on end-to-end Security opportunities with internal stakeholders and partners to cross-sell and up-sell.

Required/Minimum Qualifications:
- 7+ years technology-related sales or account management experience OR Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field AND 6+ years technology-related sales or account management experience.

Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This role will require access to information that is controlled for export under export control regulations, potentially under the U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations or Export Administration Regulations, the EU Dual Use Regulation, and/or other export control regulations. As a condition of employment, the successful candidate will be required to provide proof of citizenship, U.S. permanent residency, or other protected status (e.g., under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3)) for assessment of eligibility to access the export-controlled information. To meet this legal requirement, and as a condition of employment, the successful candidate’s citizenship will be verified with a valid passport. Cloud Screening:
Candidates must be able to successfully complete and pass a Microsoft Cloud background screening. Required Cloud Screenings will be administered on a recurring bi-annual basis.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration (i.e., MBA), Information Technology, OR related field AND 5+ years of technology-related sales OR account management experience OR Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, OR related field AND 8+ years of technology-related sales OR account management experience OR 9+ years of technology-related sales
- 6+ years of Department of Defense solution or services sales experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a United States Security Clearance.
Solution Area Specialists IC5 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $122,400 – $216,500 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $166,100 – $235,000 per year.
