Salary: £30,000.00 – £45,000.00

The beautiful setting enhances learning and inspires fun experiences for progress.Main Purpose of the Role:As the English Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning to students aged 11-16 with social and emotional difficulties, anxiety disorders, and mental health needs.
  • Focus on increasing academic and vocational qualifications and knowledge, while fostering independent living skills.
  • Teach English up to GCSE level.

Key Duties:

  • Contribute to curriculum delivery and development, considering the educational, physical, and social needs of the students.
  • Collaborate with other staff members as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Use short-, medium-, and long-term plans to deliver the curriculum.
  • Set, monitor, and review personalised learning targets for each student.
  • Participate in the review of Statements and EHC plans, PEP, and LAC reviews.
  • Provide clear lesson structures that maintain pace, motivation, and challenge.
  • Assist in developing the curriculum and stay informed on current autism-related issues for effective teaching.
  • Manage a delegated budget as required.
  • Be flexible and willing to help with various tasks as needed.

Successful Candidate Qualities:Essential:

  • PGCE, QTS/QTLS, or equivalent Level 5 teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training.
  • Ability to teach Entry Level 2 & 3 and GCSE English.

Desirable:

  • Experience working in a school environment, preferably in specialist education.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Strong teaching and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Effective planning, preparation, recording, and reviewing of students’ progress.
  • Good IT skills and understanding of how IT can support learning.
  • Ability to remain calm and reflective in challenging environments.
  • Proven ability to work independently, organise effectively, prioritise, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to build positive, enabling relationships with students.
