We are currently working with a lovely SEN Secondary School in Southampton. We are looking for a pro-active and personable individual to support in KS3 and KS4 classes who cater for pupils with SEN and SEMH needs. The school’s focus is providing a nurturing environment that enables the pupils to engage successfully in all aspects of learning.
Role of an SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Supporting the class Teacher (4-8 pupils per class)
- Supporting with outdoor day trips and activity days
- Embrace all aspects of the school’s visions and core values
- Working with pupils with ASC, complex needs, challenging behaviours
- Full-time 8:30am to 3:30pm
- 1:1 and small group work ensuring pupils stay on track with the curriculum
The ideal candidate will:
- Have lots of patience, be proactive and resilient! – this role can be challenging, but it is very rewarding!
- Experience working within a SEN/SEMH school (not essential)
- A strong ability to develop relationships and rapport with pupils
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
