We are a progressive secondary school located in Milton Keynes, renowned for our excellence in education and our vibrant, community-focused ethos.Role Overview:We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support our secondary-aged students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for supporting young people, excellent interpersonal skills, and a commitment to helping every student achieve their full potential. This is a full-time role, providing a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of our students.Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN, both in and out of the classroom.
  • Assist teachers in developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of SEN students.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional development of all students.
  • Help students with personal care needs, where necessary.
  • Monitor and record students’ progress, offering regular feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Assist in the preparation and organization of classroom activities and resources.
  • Promote and model positive behaviour management strategies in line with school policies.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with secondary-aged students with Special Educational Needs, ideally within a school setting.
  • A relevant qualification in education or childcare is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient nature.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
