Job description
Our partnered secondary school is seeking a full-time SEND Teaching Assistant to join their progressive SEN department this Autumn.As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with our teaching staff to support the learning and development of students with special educational needs and disabilities. You will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued and supported.Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning and delivery of tailored learning activities for students with SEND.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, both inside and outside the classroom.
- Support the development of social skills and emotional well-being of students.
- Help to create and maintain an inclusive classroom environment.
- Assist with the preparation of teaching materials and resources.
- Monitor and record students’ progress and provide feedback to teachers.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support the individual needs of each student.
- Support students with personal care tasks, where necessary.
- Attend training sessions and participate in professional development activities.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children with special educational needs and disabilities is highly desirable.
- A passion for supporting the learning and development of students with SEND.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A relevant qualification in education or child development is a plus.
- Basic understanding of SEND and inclusive education practices.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
