Axcis Education are currently working with a mainstream secondary school located in Scarborough who are looking for day to day and long-term Teaching Assistants to work with KS3 and KS4 pupils in their inclusion unit who have a range of SEMH needs, including some physical disabilities. Working with the class teacher and SENCO, you will carry out a variety of tasks set by the class teacher, you will work with pupils on a 121 and group basis under the teacher’s guidance. You will also assist the teacher in preparing for lessons, gathering resources and arranging activities. The school are looking for Teaching Assistants with the following skills and experience: • Ideally experience of working in an SEMH and physical disabilities. • Experience of Autism • Experience of ADHD • Experience of working with challenging behaviour Requirements • A genuine passion for supporting the education and development of disadvantaged pupils. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff. • You must be adaptable to change and resilient. • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils. • You must had a valid DBS ideally on the update service, or be willing to pay for a new DBS. • You must have Right to Work in the UK. • You must be able to provide at least 12 months of professional references. • Ideally have a Team Teach certificate although not essential
