Description :Duties include, but are not limited to, month end closing, financial analysis, financial reporting, account reconciliation, and assistance with budgets. Responsibilities also include analyzing trends, costs, and revenues.SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepares balance sheet account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, and supports schedules for month end closings.
  • Independently prepares journal entries, determines required adjustments, and maintains transactions in the general ledger.
  • Prepares the analysis between budget and actuals for assigned departments.
  • Prepares a monthly trend analysis for assigned departments and determines required adjustments.
  • Assists accounting leadership with bookkeeping and maintenance of financial records.
  • Retrieves and processes documents requested by third parties, including but not limited to, credit card disputes, chargebacks, and returned items.
  • Prepares and scans electronic files into the enterprise information management system, as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
  • Cooperate and respond to audits conducted by outside agencies.
  • Assist employees, vendors, clients, or customers by answering questions related to accounts, procedures, and services.
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors and guests.
  • Follow all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Always follow the Company Service Standards model.
  • Must be able to work a variety of hours, holidays, and weekends as necessary.
  • Must be available for regularly scheduled work.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:In addition to the other duties described herein, each Team Member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations.

  • Attend required training sessions offered by the Company.
  • Obtain and retain required license(s).
  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
  • Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the Team Member’s department.
  • Have knowledge of the Property’s programs to address problem gaming.
  • Report any acts of wrongdoing of which the Team Member may have knowledge.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of related experience is required.
  • Must be proficient in the entire Microsoft Office Suite

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Virginia Racing Commission LicenseValid Driver’s License with a minimum of three (3) years driving experience.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
