Our client is a dynamic and fun Hamilton company that has been in business for almost 20 years. Due to exciting and unprecedented growth, they have created a new position and are adding a Senior Accountant to the team. This is a hybrid position requiring 2 days (Tuesday and Thursday) in office on a weekly basis.Reporting to the Director of Finance & Operations, the Senior Accountant manages company statements and analysis along with financial aspects of ongoing projects, handling budgeting, cost tracking, and financial reporting. Responsibilities include reconciling accounts, processing invoices, and ensuring compliance with financial policies. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential for collaborating with production, HR and accounting teams.To be considered for this position, you should be a CPA or CPA student with 5+ years of experience from a project-based industry. Preference will be given to candidates from the entertainment industry. Strong Excel is required for this position. You must also have excellent communication skills as you will be working closely with project managers and external partners.Budgets (Production/Marketing/Investments)o The Senior Accountant will create a production budget for review which will include the established operational and investment margins.o Revise budget every time a change is approved, input date into cost tracking dashboard.o Prepare invoice and purchase orders for processing because of changes in production.o Maintain historical budgets and report on margin and efficiency ratioso Maintain the FINAL budget folder used for agreements and record filing.o Keep track of cashflow and maintain goals set by board.o Review expenses and keep within set budgets/controlso Maintain margins, report irregularities.Cost Report/Trackingo Create a Cost Report as soon as a final budget has been approved.o Update and maintain weekly production entries and up to date reports for each production with analysis vs budgeto Lead the Monthly cost reporting meeting.Accountingo Prepare financial statements and regulatory reporting documents for multiple companies including consolidations.o Manage general ledger and assist month-end and year-end close processes.o Performing monthly balance sheet, income statement and changes in financial position/budget variance analyses.o Review and manage accounts payable and receivable.o Review and analyze financial data and create reports on financial status based on the analysis results.o Create timely and accurate accounting reports and present them to company’s executives and senior management.o Calculate and book deferred revenue, WIP, amortization schedules.o Develop recommendations to optimize company’s accounting systems and procedures and detect inaccuracies.o Support and oversee tax audits (both internal and external) and tax returns.o Work with accounting staff to manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.Financial Reportingo Quarterly efficiency/funding/process improvement proposalso Monthly Cost reportingo Monthly Cashflow projectionsFinancial Leadershipo Answer requests or concerns from clients / providers / 3rd partyo Relationship management with key operational supplierso Highly intuitive recognition of needs of the companyo Absolute understanding of Core Values to be an Ambassador for Pipelineo Aligned and supportive of corporate goals.o Identify the growth needs of the company and design the teams, right process and system.Auditingo Create the system of control for Latin American projects (including payroll/cost reporting/financial reporting/bank account management/cashflow reporting and projections.o Maintain precise, detailed and transparent account of all financial movement in the production.o Work with auditors and report to executive team.o Complete all financial documentation and reporting required for private or public funding programs such as tax credits/media awards/international or national trade initiatives.Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
