Job description
Are you looking for a progressive role as Senior Accountant with a well known organization located in the Guelph? Robert Half is partnering up with a client looking to add a valuable member to their Finance team.
As a Senior Accountant, your role involves:
– Monitoring and analyzing accounting data, producing financial reports, and reconciling accounts.
– Taking ownership of bank transactions, including balancing store deposits to the bank, executing payments, and preparing bank reconciliations.
– Completing month-end closing tasks by preparing, entering, adjusting, and closing entries.
– Preparing and presenting month/year-end financial analysis and related reports.
– Assisting with ad hoc reports and analyses as directed by the Controller and departmental leaders.
– Supporting the Controller in determining and implementing workflow process improvements and special projects.
– Monitoring and reporting on departmental budgets and collaborating with leaders to ensure budget compliance.
– Providing support and assistance in problem-solving for issues related to accounts payable, sales, and inventory discrepancies.
– Ensuring adherence to relevant internal control protocols and correctness of accounting systems.
– Training, coaching, and guiding members of the Finance and Administration team.
Qualifications for this role include:
– 3+ years of accounting and related month-end analysis experience.
– CPA in progress is preferred.
– Diploma or Degree in business, finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
– Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
– High level of initiative, problem-solving skills, and independence.
– Advanced computer skills in MS Office, accounting software, and databases.
– Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, policies, and regulation
