We’re looking for our next Senior Accountant. Could it Be You?The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in maintaining Questrade’s financial integrity by ensuring accurate and timely management of financial records. This role contributes to strategic decision-making and operational excellence by providing actionable financial insights and supporting continuous improvements.What’s it like working as a Senior Accountant at Questrade?As a Senior Accountant at Questrade, you will be a key player in our Finance team, driving the month-end process and overseeing general accounting tasks. You’ll collaborate across departments, manage financial processes for multiple entities, and be involved in impactful finance projects that contribute to the company’s growth and success.Need more details? Keep reading…In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Owning the preparation and review of month-end balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data
  • Managing accrued liability entries and reconciliations, prepaid expense entries, and fixed/intangible asset schedules across multiple entities
  • Leading daily bank entries and intercompany transactions, ensuring timely reconciliations and adherence to financial controls
  • Performing detailed P&L and balance sheet variance analysis, delivering insights for performance improvement
  • Developing and continuously improving desktop procedures, ensuring clear documentation and streamlined processes
  • Taking a proactive role in key finance projects, contributing to process optimization and system enhancements

  • Hold a Post-secondary degree / diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Have 3+ years of experience in a relevant accounting role, with exposure to complex accounting functions
  • Hold a CPA designation
  • Have advanced Excel skills with a solid ability to analyze and interpret financial data
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Have demonstrated problem-solving skills with impeccable attention to detail and accuracy
  • Have proven ability to prioritize and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Have a record of initiating process improvements that contribute to team efficiency

Additional kudos if you have…

  • Knowledge of IFRS
  • Experience with NetSuite and Blackline
