Purpose
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Product Control Corporate Banking, the incumbent will be primarily responsible for providing analysis for daily P&L reporting and the daily/monthly accounting, balancing and reconciliation for the Corporate Lending business. The Senior Accounting Analyst, Product Control will prepare assets and liabilities financial reports and various MIS reports on monthly and quarterly basis.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Verify that GL postings, amendments, reversals or other accounting adjustment transactions were approved and captured in accordance with internal control procedures and accounting policies.
- Complete output verification checks according to the daily accounting control cycle.
- Complete the balancing, reconciliation and/or analytic activities between multiple systems, and General Ledger system and other desktop computer applications / spreadsheets on a regular basis to ensure accurate financial results are maintained and reported.
- Capture or verify the accuracy of non-financial “static” data to maintain the multiple systems for counterparty information, including credit conditions and other static data related to customer account set-ups, updates.
- Identify and escalate exceptions from accounting / credit terms, conditions and routine procedures to more senior officers to ensure corrective action is taken quickly.
- Produce and distributing MIS reports as required.
- Perform all other accounting/administrative duties as assigned.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We’d love to work with you if you have:
- A university undergraduate degree in finance or accounting
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to work independently and under pressure, and to handle multiple tasks within tight time constraints
- Strong knowledge of accounting procedures (balance sheet/off balance sheet and P&L), finance, business processes
