Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?On the Consolidated Reporting Services team within RBC Family Office Services, your role as the Senior Accounting Officer is to prepare financial statements, tax returns, supporting schedules, and other reports within established deadlines in an efficient and accurate manner, ensuring a seamless delivery of quality client service. You will also review bookkeeping files. You will develop new business from referrals as you leverage relationships within RBC Wealth Management and other internal partners. Although you must be comfortable working alone with minimal supervision, being a team player is critical as success is dependent on collaborating with others.What will you do?

  • Prepare client reports and financial statements for assigned accounts in accordance with the Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE), within established guidelines and deadlines
  • Prepare and file annual corporate tax returns and monthly remittances, within established guidelines and deadlines
  • Prepare different tax forms, such as Election for a Capital Dividend, T5/RL-3, NR4, etc.
  • Review and verify the financial reports for bookkeeping clients, ensuring accuracy of the information before delivering to external accountants
  • Read tax planning memos and prepare schedules, demonstrating the accounting and tax implications
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of Corporate Income Tax rules and regulations as they apply to private companies and stay abreast of applicable tax law changes (e.g., provincial and federal budgets, etc.)
  • Provide coaching to accountants in the preparation of financial reports and tax returns to ensure their continued development within Consolidated Reporting Services
  • Assist Senior Manager in finding solutions to streamline operations

What do you need to succeed?
Must-have

  • Degree, diploma, or certificate in accounting
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting, preferably with holding companies
  • Bilingualism (English and French) required, as you will regularly do business with RBC partners and/or employees across Canada with English and French speaking needs
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict taxation, private company administration, and audit deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize and stay organized
