Senior Audiologist Band 6 – Permanent RoleThe post holder will be providing direct hearing management and/or wax management of the Adult population. This includes diagnostic assessment, speech testing and rehabilitation. In doing so, you will implement programmes of care required to support and manage their hearing needs. It is crucial that the post holder works within their sphere of competence and knowledge in relation to Adult hearing pathways. The post holder will work within a range of procedures and pathways in which they have experience to ensure a streamlined care plan is provided for patients/carers and their families. The post holder will also support the other team members and students (work based mentor). In addition to the clinical role, there will also be responsibility for department stock management and supporting the Health and Safety compliance for the DepartmentMain duties of the jobAssisting in the day to day running of the Audiology Service to ensure ENT clinics, outreach clinics and adult/paediatric clinics operate effectively with good clinical outcomes.Assisting the Lead Paediatric Audiologist in the provision of the Paediatric service and ensuring national guidelines are adhered toTo complete Diagnostic Auditory Brainstem testing/Diagnostic Oto Acoustic Emissions for patients referred via NHSP or Paediatric Dept and ensuring a robust care plan is in place to support patient/carers and their familiesTo complete both routine and complex hearing assessments for the paediatric population in both Lead Audiologist and Senior Audiologist led clinicsResponsibility for the provision of the Transition service (16-21yr old) in conjunction with the Lead Paediatric Audiologist and ensuring national guidelines are adhered toWorking independently providing a specialist diagnostic and rehabilitative service for adults and paediatric patients, including those with physical or learning difficulties.Responsibility for management of own patients, formulating and delivering care plans for both adults and paediatricsFitting Hearing Aids to adults and paediatric patients including rehabilitation and support to the patient/carers and their familiesAbout usTameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust serves a community of 250,000 people across Tameside & Glossop.   • RCCP/AHCS Registration
  • Evidence of continuing personal development (CPD)

  • MSc in Clinical Audiology or evidence of further education
  • Higher training scheme qualification.
  • Clinical Educators qualification
