For us, this isn’t just about technical performance, but also supporting the internal human processes that will always power much of our product. You will work closely with Product, Operations, Customer Support, Growth and other functions to design and build out a reliable, performant, and secure platform for handling remittances across countries. As an early member of the team, we hope you will also have a lot of impact on our team culture, processes and norms.Taptap Send is a cross-platform mobile app developed with React Native and TypeScript, which talks to a backend service written in Kotlin and backed by a PostgreSQL database, all of which runs on AWS and is managed via Terraform and Ansible. This is a backend-focused role, but you will have plenty of opportunities to work across the stack to bring Taptap Send’s industry-leading product to new countries..We’re an encouraging environment that values both teamwork and autonomy, and have many exciting upcoming challenges, including: scaling up to handle increased volume and complexity, helping our analysts derive business and product insights to drive growth and retention, building internal tools for our customer support and acquisition efforts, and much more!Your Responsibilities:Build out unified interface encapsulating dozens of third party payment integrationsWork on one of the pillar revenue centers of the organizationTake ownership of backend system architecture and implementationBuild performant and resilient data flows; keeping security in mind during every stepWork closely with product team to regularly ship working featuresWork in an iterative fashionEvaluate and deliver timeline estimatesRequirements:7+ years of professional experience building backend systemsProficiency with Kotlin or Java / JVMProficiency with PostgreSQLExperience with AWS: S3, SQS, SNS, Lambda, etc.Experience implementing and managing elaborate integrations with third-party APIsExperience working on systems that have real-world performance and reliability constraintsExperience developing software in a collaborative, multi-functional, and fast-paced environmentStrong communication and ability to manage conflicting priorities, setting expectations with stakeholders and be a driving forceIdeally:Experience working with Infrastructure as Code technologies, like Terraform and AnsibleExperience with SRE or similar infrastructure workExperience with Data Engineering concepts and workflowsHigh personal code/development standards (code review, unit testing, documentation, etc.)Impact firstTeam nextAccept realityPropose solutionsWin with gritBe proactively candid, with yourself and othersLove the particularOwn itCreate positive energyMaybe, even have funTaptap Send is an equal opportunity employer dedicated to building an inclusive and diverse workforce.
