Requisition ID: 207596Join a purpose driven winning team, committed to results, in an inclusive and high-performing culture.The FR2052a/Axiom Technology team supports Scotiabank’s Group Treasury business by providing functional and technical expertise in US FR2052a FED Reporting and related internal and third-party applications. The business analyst team acts as a liaison between business stakeholders and internal development groups, gathers robust requirements for enhancement / modification requests, recommends effective solutions for business and technology objectives, and conducts thorough testing of technology solutions. As subject matter experts, the team also serves as an escalation point for production issues and assists other internal upstream / downstream technology groups.Key accountabilities:

  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders including business end users and upstream / downstream technology groups to gather comprehensive information related to problems, projects and requests.
  • Work closely with internal development resources as well as third-party vendor contacts to design and test creative and efficient solutions.
  • Actively participate in or lead team stand-ups and scrums to ensure broad awareness of in-flight initiatives and coordinate work efforts.
  • Manage functional and technical requests as well as bug investigations and discretionary work efforts using a variety of tools including JIRA, Confluence, and ServiceNow
  • Actively participate in improving team processes and workflows, with an emphasis on knowledge retention and intra / inter-team cooperation
  • Periodically act as the team’s release coordinator to ensure Change Management processes and requirements are met in a timely manner.
  • Participate in on-call rotation in support of off-shore team members and business stakeholders.

Functional Competencies:

  • Understanding key liquidity regulations such as FR 2052a, LCR, NSFR and NCCF.
  • Interact with Business team and analyze regulatory documents to decipher requirements.
  • Prepare Business Architecture & Business Requirement documents.
  • Develop Function Requirements specifications & Business Data requirements Inventory with definitions.
  • Defining Functional Test Scenarios & Test Cases.
  • Provide overall functional guidance to the technology team.
  • 5 years in Banking Risk Management, Regulatory Domain and Liquidity Risk & Asset Liability Management.
  • 7+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst in a challenging IT system solution environment.
  • 5+ years of experience in an agile environment.
  • Experience & Solid understanding of Liquidity Risk functions such as Cash flows, Haircuts, and Liquidity assets eligibility assessment.
  • Analytical bent of mind, good ability to listen, communicate, and effectively articulate.
  • Write SQL queries for data mining.
  • Having Python Knowledge is a plus.
  • Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence, …).
  • Experience in Scrum master/delivery lead capacity.
  • Detail Oriented. You notice all the little details for every document/requirement/conversation that comes across you, and it drives you crazy that others cannot keep everything consistent.
  • Communicator/Negotiator. You are excellent at ensuring everyone speaks the same language and is on the same page, and sometimes that involves some give and take.
  • You can multi-task and work on multiple initiatives at the same time.
  • Team Player. You enjoy collaborating with, learning from, and teaching others so we all become better.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Engineering or Computer Science degree, and pride yourself on analysis, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Education:

  • Post-secondary degree in a related field (technical or business)
