Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?RBC Capital Markets is a leading global investment banking company dedicated to providing services in banking, finance, and capital markets to corporations, institutional investors, asset managers, and governments globally. We are seeking a highly skilled Business Management Associate to join our dynamic team in Halifax. The purpose of this role is to lead key business management activities and portfolio governance activities and will serve as a primary-point-of-contact for financial and program related questions as well as overall inquiries for Shared Services Technology portfolio.What will you do?
- Maintain budgets related to fiscal year and multiyear spend on a variety of technology delivery projects
- Ownership of tracking vendor related spend across the portfolio
- Provide inputs towards the annual fiscal planning process
- Quantify all financial impacts to the portfolio on rolling month basis
- Review forecast verse approved spend amounts with delivery leads on a regular basis
- Assist project teams in the creation of internal business case’s
- Assist in the creation of executive presentation materials
What do you need to succeed?Must have:
- CPA along with, undergraduate degree in Business, Finance or Accounting coupled with experience supporting technology delivery teams with project financials
- 3-5 years of related experience along with demonstrated ability in written and oral communication skills along with strong presentation skills. Ability to determine the information and communication needs of the stakeholders and project.
- Expert level using Excel including building macros and pivot tables
- Extremely detailed; strong organizational, project management and time management capabilities; deadline-driven and results-oriented; able to meet consistently high quality standards while handling a variety of tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- A strong understanding of technology and/or financial services industry
Nice-to-have:
- Experience within a large financial institution
- Strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal skills to work across functions and businesses
