About the role

The University of Sussex is looking to appoint a confident communications professional to support a major programme of projects in the University.

In this role you will support some of the university’s major projects, which are helping us realise our strategic vision to become ‘a better University for a better world’.

Your focus will be to support communications around a major programme of investment in both the University’s estate and supporting infrastructure, systems and processes.

You will be responsible for developing and keeping our communications plans up to date, tracking our progress and keeping records as we deliver against the plans. You will be responsible for drafting and publishing messages through a number of channel, gaining sign off and engaging with stakeholders, and also listening to feedback, seeking input from staff and students as projects are introduced, and ultimately delivered.

You will attend key meetings and working groups and work closely with colleagues in the Communications, Marketing and Advancement, and Projects and Strategy divisions, ensuring an integrated approach to communications across the university.

About you

You will have worked in a similar role, where you will have supported communication teams to deliver plans and strategies in support of the organisation’s objectives.

You will be able to turn your hand to internal communications and engagement, event management and work with digital/social media and video. You’ll also be able to engage with and work alongside senior stakeholders.

Please note: The University requires that work undertaken for the University is performed from the UK. Hours Full time or part time hours considered up to a maximum of 36.5 FTE. Requests for flexible working options will be considered (subject to business need).
