The reporting techniques used are primarily in Excel, Power Bi and Power Apps and as such the successful candidate would need to be confident in all three of these applications and be able to develop, maintain and enhance reporting using a combination of one or all of these. The successful candidate would also need to have practical experience of establishing Power Bi reports that are able to link together data from multiple areas to tell the whole story.Due to many reports having to be established from first principles, the role requires the successful candidates to have a level of flexibility and acceptance of enhancements which by nature will be required as end-users access the provided reports. As an employer we encourage continued professional development of our staff, however this is not an entry level role and any applicant must have the necessary experience to deliver the requirements of the role with minimal supervision and be able to work independently .The team under which this role will sit is multi-disciplined covering both commercial and performance and road fleet and the primary locations of the team members are Manchester and Birmingham. Hybrid working is welcome, with a minimum of two days in the office but some travel within the region and nationally will be required.The job is disability compliant, and interviews will take place in Birmingham.About the role (External)1. Lead the development & deployment of appropriate Excel and Power BI reporting to meet the needs of the discipline head2. Lead the development & deployment of appropriate Power App solutions to meet the needs of the discipline head3. Collaborate with a network of Subject Matter Experts to promote ‘capability’ in assurance reporting4. Provide guidance & expertise on existing data analysis and reporting systems, their connectivity and opportunity for improvement and integration.5. Deliver continuous improvement and corrective action where required.6. Periodically collate, analyse and report on areas of commercial and procurement performance whilst improving co-ordination with other functions & maintaining positive relationships across the Region7. Contribute to the development of the assurance strategy, provide analysis as required, making recommendations for improvements.In order to be successful in this role, we would like you to have/to be:· Student/part membership (or equivalent) of the relevant professional body having progressed to at least the final stage of qualification, or possession of sufficient experience to fulfil the requirements of the role without membership of the relevant professional body· Proven analytical skills, including experience of design and delivery using Power BI, Power App and Excel.· Excellent commercial awarenessWe would also like but it isn’t crucial to have/to be:· Degree educated or equivalent· Experience of working with Oracle· Good communication & interpersonal skillsHow to apply (External)Salary: £42,254 – £48,486Closing date: Monday 24 February 2025.
