The Senior Commercial Project Manager (SCPM) / Project Controller is responsible for commercial aspects related to customer contracts—from the sales phase to execution, to project completion. Responsibilities encompass sales controlling, performance measurement, planning, forecasting, and reporting. The SCPM will partner with Customers, Suppliers, Project Managers, Engineers, Sales, Procurement, Legal Finance colleagues, and internal and external Auditors.
The projects business with approximately $1.3 billion in annual order intake is currently seeking a Commercial Project Manager to join the business. The qualified candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting and previous work experience greater than 5 years in Finance related fields. Good understanding of supply chain management with strong business acumen. The candidate must have good communication skills for collaboration with internal and external stakeholders and provide financial leadership in this role. The position reports to the Head of Commercial Project Management and is in Peachtree Corners, GA or Remote.
You will make impact with the following responsibilities:
- Manage full project P&L responsibility and cash flow performance; perform month-end closing process activities
- Prepare accurate Forecast of Profit and Loss Statement, Statement of Financial Position (balance sheet), and Cash Flow on a yearly and monthly basis analyzing and keeping record of FC assumptions to explain deviations to make sure forecast goals are attained.
- Ensure clean and accurate record keeping of the financial documents of the project in adherence to Company’s policies and Financial Reporting Guidelines.
- Support the Project Manager in identifying, reporting, avoiding or mitigating non-conformance costs; supports the implementation of lessons learned into own project and the organization in general.
- Be the trusted partner for the Project Team by Collaborating, Leading and Educating team members from other areas on all financial and compliance topics
- Ensure effective communication with all relevant internal and external stakeholders such as BU and Segment Management, HR, Quality Management, Environment Health and Safety, customers, suppliers. Partners with Procurement on negotiations with vendors and leading/supporting the claim management process.
- Actively participate in change order negotiations with customer taking the lead from the commercial perspective and ensuring price calculations and proposals are beneficial to Siemens.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics or related Business degree.
- Master’s or MBA with knowledge of SAP and minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial perspective.
- Knowledge of Accounting principles in alignment with Financial Reporting Guidelines, International Financial Reporting Guidelines and US GAAP.
- Experience in Financial Planning and Controlling.
- Ability to read and interpret contract conditions.
- Strong understanding of Percentage of Completion accounting method and project controlling requirements (accurate bookkeeping, risk and opportunity management, currency management).
- Experience in contract negotiations (customer change orders and claims as well as negotiations with vendors)
- Working knowledge of continuous improvement initiatives.

- The pay range for this position is $87,000 – $149,200. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
