We’re seeking an experienced and enthusiastic communicator to fill an integral role in the Science Communications & Engagement team at RBG Kew. (PDF, 193.64kb)More detailsUtilising your rich history of working in scientific organisations and forming close relationships with practicing researchers, conservationists and science staff, you will reach out across the organisation to identify key science stories and craft content that delivers real impact towards Kew’s Science Strategy and Manifesto for Change.You will utilise your skills in digital content creation and social media management to promote Kew’s scientific research across our external channels and maintain an up-to-date calendar of scheduled material and opportunities. Your eye for detail and passion for analytical tools will prove crucial in assessing the reach and engagement of the outputs you produce, and subsequently drawing conclusions and implementing learnings.In this particularly exciting time to join the Science Communications & Engagement team, you will work closely with the Communications & Engagement Manager to shape a new long-term science communications plan, contribute to major campaigns, and rise to new opportunities and challenges as global digital platforms change. You will also utilise your problem-solving and decision-making skillset as you support the Digitisation Project Communications Officer in their delivery of the project’s communications strategy.Overall, you will work on internal and external communications outputs that reflect the incredible diversity of Kew’s research, the species and ecosystems under its care, and the people that make up Kew and its many partners.Interviews will take place in November 2024This role is based at Kew with the option of regular home working, subject to operational requirements.The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew (RBG Kew) is a leading plant science institute, UNESCO World Heritage Site, and major visitor attraction.
