The Senior Data Analyst position is an opportunity for an experienced analytics professional to be a key contributor to the Data Insights & Analytics practice at ESC. This role leverages our vast claims data to create meaningful reports that deliver insights to help make better business decisions as well as support the needs of external clients. These reports will capture, consolidate, and visualize information to foster understanding of the past, present, and likely future business. The Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for combining business acumen with technical skills in order to optimize business results and improve customer outcomes. A high level of creativity and impeccable interpersonal skills will be vital to abstracting requirements from a broad variety of stakeholders bringing forth often-novel use cases, as well as managing their expectations and ensuring their trust.Essential Functions:Partner with business teams and clients to identify opportunities for reporting and data insightsCreate report outputs, visualizations and slide decks that reflect the objectives, needs and analytical knowledge of stakeholdersGather business needs, refine requirements, perform data analysis and recommend benchmarks/performance measures to stakeholdersUncover stories in the data that will lead to decisions and actionsManipulate and combine a variety of data sources using Python/SQL to create analytical solutions to business problemsConsult with internal stakeholders to support and streamline business processesManage relationships and priorities between analytics and internal business teamsShow up as reliable and trustworthy to ensure the confidence of stakeholders which rely on the veracity of analysisSupport evolution of data analytics by introducing best practices, data governance protocols, and documentationQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Math, Engineering or Business backgroundKnowledge of the Pharmacy or Group Health Benefits (pharmacy, dental, other health) industry highly preferred3-6 years of analytics experience, including demonstrated ability to ability to undertake and manage analytics research projectsProficient knowledge of Oracle SQL Developer or similar to support business via queries and thorough data validationPython, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Microsoft Access, and Microsoft Power BI experience are strong assetsExperience translating business needs into practical applications and solutionsStrong interpersonal skills and poise appropriate for collaborating with non-technical clients on technical subjects, particularly with external clientsTrack record of solving problems without having a prescribed processHigh levels of initiative, self-management and prioritization skillsExperience in typical Office applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and VisioCritical thinking skills and the capacity to explore unknown datasets and problems by leveraging internal SME’sNOTE: Internal posting will be closed on March 26, 2025.Express Scripts Canada is a Cigna companyExpress Scripts Canada is a subsidiary of Express Scripts, a Cigna company.
